On April 22, 2017, The ALS Association hosted its annual 3k walk in support of raising awareness and funds for ALS research. Our Systel Team is committed to raising money to support the people in our community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatment and a cure, especially in support of our fellow employee Lew Watson who is currently battling the disease.
An overwhelming show of support for #TeamLew took over the Halifax Mall in Raleigh. A banner generously designed and printed by our very own Systel Print Shop hung at the rally point for the team. Over 3,000 participants walked this year to spread awareness for ALS. An astounding 300 people proudly walked wearing their #teamlew garb in support of Lew’s personal fight with ALS.
In true Lew winning fashion, #TeamLew ranked second out of all participating teams raising $32,441.81 and Lew himself placed first in the individual category by raising an impressive $23,811.81 for ALS research.
A post walk event took place at Wakefield Tavern in Wake Forest, NC where everyone enjoyed great food, drinks and conversation with Lew and his Family.
Thanks to everyone who came out and donated to the ALS Associdation in support of Lew and others battling this disease.
In the spirit of May being ALS Awareness Month, if you missed the event and would like to donate to the ALS Association, donations are accepted all year long on their website.
